You can use a Product feed to upload new product information to MIP or to change information about products already listed on an eBay marketplace.

Requirements

  • Product feeds must contain all of the elements listed as required in the Product feed definitions table.
  • Identify each product or product variant with a unique SKU.

  • Define items as an individual products (for a single SKU listing), or as a product variation within a product group (for a multiple SKU listing).

  • Ensure that all manufactured products have a product identifier such as a UPC, EAN, ISBN, or Brand/MPN.
  • Include at least one image file (photo) must be included for each SKU,
  • Image files must meet the requirements specified in eBay Picture Policy.

Important! When using Product combined feeds, always include the product feed that contains the product information. Do not submit product combined feeds with distribution and/or availability information only. This may erase all previously submitted product information. See Using product combined feeds for more information.

Note: When you edit an image, you should either modify the name of the image and/or store the modified image in a new location, and then provide this new image URL through a new Product feed. This is necessary since MIP is not able to detect when changes to an image have been made.

Note: When using the Product and Product Combined feeds in CSV format, the last five Attribute Name/Attribute Value pairs in the feed file can be used to provide data related to CA Prop 65 mandate. Prop 65 requires sellers to provide warnings about items they sell to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

How to create a product feed

  1. Download the product feed sample file: product.csv or product.xml
  2. Open and edit the file as needed to provide specific information about your products. See the field definitions in Product feed definitions.
  3. Save the file in the appropriate format (.CSV or .XML) with an appropriate name.
  4. Upload the Product feed file to eBay.
